Panelists:
Professor Fatma Marouf  (HLS 2002), Professor of Law and Director of the Immigrant Rights Clinic, Texas A&M University School of Law.  Previously, she was an attorney for California Rural Legal Assistance, and clerked for US District Court Judge Conseulo B. Marshall in the Central District of California. 

 

Jacob Soboroff  is a correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC and the author of the New York Times bestseller Separated: Inside an American Tragedy. For his reporting on the child-separation policy, he received the 2019 Walter Cronkite Award for Individual Achievement by a National Journalist and the 2019 Hillman Prize for Broadcast Journalism. He has appeared on TODAY, Morning Joe, The Rachel Maddow Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and numerous other programs. He co-presented (with Katy Tur) the four-part event docuseries American Swamp on MSNBC. 

 

Elizabeth Nehrling Sotiriou (HLS 2015) is a Managing Attorney at the Capital Area Immigrants' Rights (CAIR) Coalition, where she oversees the provision of legal services to unaccompanied immigrant minors in federal detention facilities and represents those minors in their immigration proceedings.  She has previously worked with immigrant communities in the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Mexico, and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso.
